I’ve got a confession to make.

Late last night I picked up an email from a national journalist, asking me for a quote for an article he was publishing this morning. In the olden days, I’d have quietly let it slip, convincing myself it was too late and I had missed the boat. I’d have silently justified not returning the call – maybe even pretending I hadn’t got the message until this morning. I’d have been scared about being misquoted – or criticised – or rejected – or trolled in the comments.

Not any more.

I called him on his mobile, apologised for the late hour and said what needed to be said. Sure enough, I woke up this morning to find my message in one of the UK’s biggest newspapers, despite the fact that it was the exact opposite of what he had wanted to publish. In fact, he gave me the final word.

I feel honoured to have been able to make a difference last night. And I don’t give two hoots what the trolls might say. Ok, maybe an eighth of a hoot – but I can live with that! 😉

And it’s not just about newspapers. There are so many ways we hide from our mission – from our dream clients – from making a difference – from growing our business.

Over the past 13 years, as an NLP Trainer, a published Author, a Meditation Teacher and a reformed engineer, I have had the privilege of empowering thousands of people to authentically inspire others with their message.
