What if I told you that pretty much everything you have ever been taught about how to change your life is back-to-front?
What if I told you that you have most likely spent your entire adult life rowing as hard as you can upstream, when everything you have been looking for was waiting for you, downstream?
What if I told you that trying, trying, trying and then trying some more is one of the best ways to make it nearly impossible to create the life of your dreams?
Would you think I’m crazy?
Or would your Heart and Soul tell you that it’s finally time to let go?
After 25 years of studying ‘how people tick’, as well as ancient spiritual wisdom, I figured I had it sussed. I knew how to change my life. And how to help others change theirs. And I had helped many thousands of people to create the shifts they had been dreaming of.
I had published books. I had run retreats and seminars. I had created life-changing online courses. I had worked one-to-one.
But something was missing.
Something was out of balance.
For a while it bugged me. Then it started to shout at me. Then, one day, it totally pulled the rug out from under me.
Everything I had ever believed about ‘how to change your life’ and being happy was back-to-front. Not invalid. Not wrong. Just back-to-front.
It was all about techniques and strategies and secrets and ‘doing’. I realised, as my long-held beliefs and assumptions disintegrated, that all I needed to do was to let go.
In fact, all I had EVER needed to do was to let go.
It is only by letting go that we can move into ‘being’. By letting go, we reconnect with the essence of who we truly are.
And, as I sat with that for a while, feeling both terrified and exhilarated, I started to feel the ‘letting go’ happen. Within hours, it was impacting every aspect of my life.
My inner critic was gone.
The tension in my stomach was gone.
My fears were gone.
My worries were gone.
Any awkwardness in my relationships was gone.
As long as I kept focussing on the ‘letting go’, all of that just melted away.
And I felt huge waves of relief, as I no longer had to carry all of that old baggage – those old hurts, those old excuses, those old guilts, those old habits and pains and resentments.
And I had DONE nothing. I had simply carried on with the school run and working and doing the day-to-day stuff that my routine required of me, whilst also intentionally releasing and letting go.
And it was gentle. And there was no drama. And (by my standards) surprisingly little snot.
I knew that life would never ever ever be the same again. And I could feel the wave of ‘letting go’ helping my loved ones, without me needing to say or do anything.
And the more I let go, the more I created space for my Heart And Soul energy. The relief melted into lightness. The lightness bubbled into gentle happiness. I knew I was finally reconnecting with the ‘me’ who is ‘real’, rather than the ‘me’ who was hidden under layers and layers of fears and stresses and habits.
And I laughed at the huge cosmic joke. I didn’t need to change anything about myself. I just needed to gently let go of all of the bits that weren’t really me; without drama; without self-analysis; without obsessing about the ‘why’ or ‘how did I get here’ – just letting go was all I needed to do.
If this is resonating for you – and if your Heart and Soul are telling you that this is where you want to be, then here are some ways we can work together.
I am running 3 retreats over the coming months, to hold the space for you and to share with you the ‘how’ (because our conscious minds still need that!), to help you to let go and reconnect with the essence of who you really are.
I have been an NLP Trainer for over a decade, which means I know my stuff about how to teach in ways that make it easy for you to learn. And I’m a certified Meditation Teacher, too, so helping you out with the ‘reconnecting’ bit is my area of expertise. I’m also a reformed Mechanical Engineer (clearly a mis-spent youth?!), which means that everything I teach has been through my Inner Engineer’s BS filter – to make sure it really works, and to make it practical and relevant to busy people with hectic modern lives – not just yogis in caves.
